So…life has thrown a few curveballs at us recently.
We’ve been having trouble with a rodent getting into Noel’s car and chewing some wires that control the part of the computer that makes the fuel injector work. This means that the car just won’t start…all because of a dumb rat chewing on some dumb wires. It’s in the shop getting fixed for the fourth time in three weeks. We’ve done everything to combat the rats making their way into our car shed. Lets hope we can keep them away.
John Boy’s been sick on and off this week, which finally resulted in an ER trip late Wednesday night. I was scared it was his appendix, but it turns out he just has a MAJOR UTI. Poor kid! I think he got dehydrated at field day last Friday and his body just never caught up. He’s on antibiotics and went back to school today. Then Mark shared with me this morning that John had swallowed a smallish o-ring off of a keychain “the other night.” In 5yo speak, “the other night” could mean last night, three nights ago, last week sometime, or even a month ago. I called the doctor who wanted to take a picture of John’s belly, so off to the doctor we went. John confirmed that he swallowed it not quite two weeks ago. His belly was clear though, so he’s passed it and the UTI is just a UTI and not a UTI AND a swallowed o-ring causing problems! Seriously….BOYS!
My foot barely hurts. Mark is done with preschool now, so I might hit up the indoor track or treadmill next week until Noel is down with school and I can resume my early morning summer runs. Summer break is coming and I am READY. Even though summer break means work will be crazy! Summer is down time for teachers, but not librarians!
My running friend, Chelly, nominated me for a Liebster award.
And while I’m usually all over these things, I’m just going to post my answers and skip the nominating 10 people. If you want to do it, DO IT. My brain just isn’t on enough today to find 10 people to nominate. So here’s the questions that Chelly asked me:
1. How many pairs of shoes do you own? Which is your favorite?
Running shoes: 2, well 4. I’m currently rotating between a pair of Saucony Guide 7s and a pair of Brooks PureCadence 2s. I have another pair of PureCadence 2s and a pair of Saucony Mirage 3s waiting for me when those wear out. I love my PureCadence 2s!
Non-running shoes…umm…lots. Lots of flip flops. I love the Nike ones with memory foam. I have a couple pairs of worn out running shoes (Saucony and Mizunos) that I wear just to kick around in. I have three pairs of Skechers GoWalk shoes that I absolutely love.
2. What is your favorite memory?
The births of my children.
3. You can run any race in the entire world, where would it be?
My SIL and I want to run a Disney half together. It’s gonna happen!
4. What is the farthest distance you’ve ever run?
13.1 🙂
5. What is the first thing you notice about people?
Their hair and their eyes.
6. What book are you reading now?
I’m in between books. I just finished The One by Kiera Cass. I’m about to start Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige. I’m a children’s librarian, so I read a lot of young adult novels.
7. If you were a super hero, what powers would you have?
I would want to have super stretch arms that could reach just about anything and the ability to instantly grow extra arms whenever I needed them. I’m short and I’m a mom, both of those powers would be invaluable!
8. Sunrise or sunset?
Sunrise.
9. Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
Rachel McAdams…love her!
10. What’s the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
Anything and everything my Grandma Sue has ever told me.
